In 1920s Istanbul Eve Tozer (Bess Armstrong) has lost her father, Bradley Tozer (Wilford Brimley). She needs someone's help to find him so she turns to ace WWI pilot Patrick O'Malley (Tom Selleck). The two of them embark on a journey through six different countries in O'Malley's two planes as Eve herself is a quite capable pilot and insists on flying his other plane. If they don't find her father before he is declared dead Eve will lose her inheritance to Bentik (Robert Morley), her father's partner. Eventually they find him in a small village in China, but he may not want to come back with them when all is said and done.
