Briefly, the movie "Impostor" is an action/thriller about a future Earth where a war with aliens is fought through cybernetic clones masquerading as their well-placed human counterparts. A scientist named Spencer Olham (Gary Sinise) and his wife Maya Olham (Madeleine Stowe) are deeply involved with the Earth resistance movement, studying the artificial life forms sent as "impostors" of human dignitaries to murder prominent political and scientific figures. A pompous investigative chief, Hathaway (Vincent D'Onofrio) comes to believe that Olham's wife has been replaced by a cybernetic lookalike and is a danger to everyone in the community. Spencer begins a quest, becoming hunted himself, in an effort to prove his wife's innocence and status as a real human, risking his reputation and his life in order to vindicate his family. However, nothing is as it seems in this "clone war" and Spencer must learn that the very enemy he seeks may lie within.
